Use of Shared Decision-Making Expanding, Moving ‘Even’ into Radiation Oncology

In continuing coverage, Oncology Times reports on a study from radiation oncologists in the Abramson Cancer Center that linked shared decision making to patient satisfaction. Those who felt they had more input in their treatment decision were more likely to be satisfied with their care, and experienced less anxiety around the experience. The study was led by Neha Vapiwala, MD, associate professor of Radiation Oncology in the Abramson Cancer Center.
